Inside the Married at First Sight 2025 Wedding Venues – The Stunning (and Surprising!) Locations from a Celebrant on This Year’s Show!

Where did the MAFS Season 12 couples say “I do”?
From jaw-dropping waterfront coastal venues to hidden Sydney city wedding gems, here’s the full rundown - straight from a celebrant who was there!

What comes first: the chicken or the egg? The venue or the celebrant? When you’re freshly engaged, the first stages of wedding planning are shiny, shimmery, fun, and fabulous.

Most couples come to me straight after they’ve booked the venue (although some clever ones check my availability first - just saying 👀). So, if you’re in wedding planning mode, let’s do a MAFS 2025 Season 12 wedding venue roundup.

Starting, of course, with the venue of the best ceremony in Married at First Sight history: Sierah and Billy’s wedding. How do I know it was so great? Well, I was the celebrant, of course!

Sierah and Billy’s Wedding: Greyleigh at Kiama

Greyleigh at Kiama on the NSW South Coast is a very stunning, very private property engulfed in rolling green hills, overlooking the ocean.

You can tell it’s got a bit of warm, old-world history: it was originally established as a dairy farm in the 1800s and I bet those farmers did pretty well given the luxurious style of the heritage farmhouse, kind of like when you visit someone’s rich relatives and feel like you never want to leave, you know? Or is that just me…

Who it’s for:

This gorgeous property oozes luxury and charm. I’d recommend it for the boujee couple, or the heartfelt, fun or even rustic loving lovers, with a healthy budget.

Rhi and Jeff's Wedding: Gunners Barracks

Ahhh, an absolute Sydney Harbour icon: Gunners Barracks. This venue is all about elegance, history, and those ridiculously stunning waterfront views.

But before we get into that - how funny was this ceremony? Rhi’s face when she spotted old flame Jeff standing at the altar was pure reality TV gold. The mix of shock, joy, and “Wait… is this actually happening?!” was everything. If soulmates exist, sometimes they just need a reality show experiment to give them a little nudge.

Now, back to the venue! Gunners Barracks is the definition of timeless. One of my own favorite weddings here was James and Natalie’s gorgeous day in 2023, where I couldn’t resist weaving a little history into the ceremony.

Fun fact: the Barracks were built over 150 years ago to protect Sydney Harbour from attack. Later, from the 1920s through to WWII, it housed the Royal Australian Engineers.

Given that James was an engineer himself, it felt like a full-circle moment - like this venue was meant for them.

Who it’s for:

If you’re after a wedding venue that screams classic romance with a side of Sydney Harbour sparkle, this one’s for you. Perfect for couples who love history, breathtaking water views, and a venue with that old-school elegance meets modern luxury feel. Oh, and if you’re dreaming of a very chic champagne moment on the terrace, this is the place to do it.

Morena and Tony’s Wedding: Terrara House

For this big, bold, Macedonian-meets-Italian celebration, Morena and Tony needed a venue that could match their larger-than-life personalities. And let’s be real - Terrara House absolutely understood the assignment.

With its grand heritage mansion, sprawling manicured gardens, and rich history dating back to 1860, this Shoalhaven estate brought all the elegance, charm, and just the right amount of drama to their wedding day. It’s classic, it’s opulent, and it was the perfect stage for a love story filled with family, tradition, and a whole lot of fun.

Also, can we talk about how much the MAFS producers clearly loved the South Coast this season? At this rate, we might as well rename it the Married at First Sight South Coast Wedding Trail.

Who it’s for:

Terrara House is for the romantics. The couples who love grandeur, old-world elegance, and the idea of getting married in a place that feels like a real-life fairytale. If you want a venue that’s equal parts historic estate, garden paradise, and statement wedding setting, this one ticks every box. Bonus if you’ve got a big family that’s ready to turn the reception into the party of the year!

Ashleigh and Jake’s Wedding: Cottage Lawns, Sydney Uni

For fun-loving, lighthearted couple Ashleigh and Jake, a traditional wedding venue would have been a bit stuffy I think. They tied the knot in the whimsical garden setting of Cottage Lawns at Sydney Uni, quite fitting given they’re both teachers! The ceremony space was surrounded by lush greenery, dreamy florals, and heritage charm. If fairytale vibes and old-world romance had a baby, this would be it.

Managed by HostCo, who look after a lot of gorgeous venues around Sydney, this spot looks like something straight out of an enchanted forest, with towering trees, historic sandstone buildings, and a garden so pretty it basically decorates itself. It’s elegant but relaxed, the kind of place where you can say your vows in the fresh air while still soaking up Sydney’s history.

Who it’s for:

With a ceremony capacity of just 50 guests, this venue is perfect for couples who want a small, intimate wedding with major storybook energy.

If you’re dreaming of a romantic garden ceremony but don’t want to go full “big wedding,” this one’s a winner.

Bonus tip? Follow it up with a private dining experience at one of Sydney’s best restaurants for an effortlessly stylish reception.

Awhina and Adrian’s Wedding: Deckhouse Woolwich

When it comes to Sydney Harbour views, it’s hard to top Deckhouse Woolwich. And Awhina and Adrian’s wedding? Absolute proof that waterfront romance + an epic backdrop = wedding magic.

Nestled between Woolwich Dock and Clarkes Point Reserve, Deckhouse offers all the classics in a wedding venue: floor-to-ceiling glass, an exclusive outdoor terrace, and a private bar, all with that iconic Sydney Harbour sparkle.

Fun fact: This was the gorgeous location for Reenal and Mick’s surprise wedding, where I had the absolute joy of being both celebrant and MC. And yes, the food was delish!

Who it’s for:

If you love modern waterfront elegance with a relaxed, stylish vibe, this one’s for you.

Perfect for couples who want an iconic Sydney wedding without the stuffy formality, and who appreciate a venue that looks just as good in daylight as it does twinkling under the evening lights.

Jamie and Dave’s Wedding: Carriageworks Sydney

For a vibrant, fun, flashy, tattooed, and totally dynamic couple like Jamie and Dave, only a venue with serious personality would do. Enter Carriageworks Sydney - a historic railway workshop turned industrial-chic wedding dream that brought all the grungy, moody, and effortlessly cool vibes to their big day.

With its raw brick walls, exposed steel beams, and soaring ceilings, Carriageworks has an edgy, modern feel that was softened by a gorgeous marble-like backdrop for their ceremony.

Who it’s for:

If you're a couple who loves bold spaces, urban elegance, and an effortlessly cool, industrial-chic aesthetic, Carriageworks is your venue. Perfect for lovers who have a bold vision and want a space to allow their styling to come to life.

Katie and Tim’s Wedding: Linnaeus House, Berry

Look, we’re not here to wade into that drama (MAFS fans, you know what we’re talking about), so let’s focus on what we can all agree on - Katie and Tim’s wedding venue was an absolute stunner, even though it did look freezing cold.

Another South Coast beauty, Linnaeus House in Berry was the perfect setting for their farm-style affair. With sweeping landscapes, a tranquil lake, and a beautifully rustic barn, it had all the country romance vibes without feeling overly done-up.

Their reception was decked out in peach roses and daisies, the ultimate floral combo for a relaxed, countryside wedding.

Who it’s for:

For couples who love a little bit of country charm with a whole lot of elegance. If you’re dreaming of a laid-back but breathtakingly beautiful setting, where you can say your vows by the lake before celebrating in a barn-turned-chic-reception-space, this one’s a winner.

Bonus if you like the idea of sneaking off for golden-hour photos in the rolling hills!

Carina and Paul’s Wedding: Sydney Town Hall

When you look this glamorous as a couple, you need a venue to match, and Sydney Town Hall delivered on every level. High ceilings, opulent architecture, and a setting so grand it basically does all the talking, Carina and Paul’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular.

But before we get too swept up in the venue’s neoclassical beauty, can we talk about that early wedding day plot twist? Both hailing from Perth, Carina and Paul quickly realised they’d actually dated before... and Paul had ghosted her. Ha. Talk about an awkward walk down the aisle! But hey, if nothing else, Married at First Sight loves a dramatic full-circle moment.

Who it’s for:

If you’re all about iconic, heritage-listed grandeur, Sydney Town Hall is for you. With soaring cathedral ceilings, statement chandeliers, and enough space to host a wedding of royal proportions, this is a venue made for couples who want a big, breathtaking, no-detail-spared celebration. Bonus points if you love the idea of making a seriously dramatic entrance.

Lauren and Eliot’s Wedding: Sydney State Theatre

Lauren and Eliot tied the knot at none other than the Sydney State Theatre, where the drama wasn’t just saved for the stage. And yes, there was absolutely a red carpet moment.

Attribution: Geoff Magee Photography

But here’s the thing - was this venue really them? My honest thoughts? Probably not. The Phantom of the Opera-style grandeur didn’t quite match Lauren’s polished Gold Coast vibe, and Eliot? He’s more clean-cut party guy than vintage theatre romantic. But hey, they leaned into it, moving their reception into the grand auditorium, complete with rich red florals to match the deep, moody hues of the venue.

Who it’s for:

For couples who want a theatrical, opulent, all-eyes-on-us kind of wedding. If you love vintage cinema glam, dramatic architecture, and the idea of celebrating under twinkling chandeliers, the State Theatre is a showstopper.

Bonus points if you’re already picturing your first dance on stage.
